Jana is a Vancouver-based visual artist whose work offers an exaggerated, vibrant perspective on the natural world. With a distinctive blend of vivid colors, dynamic brushwork, playful geometry, and abstract elements, her art bridges the gap between reality and imagination, inviting viewers to rediscover the beauty of nature in a fresh and captivating way.
Jana’s artistic journey began in childhood, attending art classes and camps, where she developed a passion for exploring different techniques and media.
At 19, she deepened her craft at the Accademia D’arte Firenze, where she spent three months studying traditional oil painting. Though her style has evolved beyond strict classical methods, her love for oil painting has remained at the heart of her practice. Since then, she has continued to explore and grow as an artist through independent study.
In recent years, Jana has focused exclusively on nature-based art, diving deeper into abstraction. She’s become fascinated by the infinite textures and intricate details of nature that often go unnoticed, capturing them through an abstract lens. Her work invites viewers to explore the unseen and often overlooked wonders of the natural world.
Jana currently works out of her studio in Marpole, Vancouver. Recent exhibitions of note include Art Vancouver 2023 and "Into the Wild," a show hosted by Fjällräven in 2024.
